Santa Clarita Community Center is a 17,500 sq.ft. building located in Newhall, the historic center of Santa Clarita. The masonry, steel, and wood building encloses a boxing room, multipurpose room with indoor/outdoor stage, teen room, toy room, multimedia classroom, and folkloric dance space. The colorful building makes reference to the agrarian history in the area in its forms and to the railroad adjacent to the project in its colors. The design integrated a mix of structural systems to frame the various spaces and modern architecture.
