Acquisition of Duquette Engineering expands T&S Structural’s geographic and service offerings

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- T&S Structural, an employee-owned structural engineering and consulting company on the California Central Coast, has acquired Duquette Engineering, headquartered in Santa Clara, Calif. Duquette’s 10 engineers and staff will join T&S Structural, which will now have more than 50 employees in four offices throughout the state. The purchase was completed December 31, 2023.

The acquisition broadens T&S Structural’s presence in the Bay Area and expands its service coverage across California.

Michelle McCovey-Good, CEO of the combined firm, noted a serendipity in the timing: “It so happens to have come together on the eve of our celebrating T&S Structural’s 30th anniversary year. We can think of no better way to usher in a

new era of expanded growth and opportunities than stepping into the future with the Santa Clara office, with whom we have long shared a productive relationship and strong alignment. Steve, a fellow Cal Poly alum, has built a wonderful firm with core values very similar to those of T&S Structural. Both organizations are built on a foundation of employee ownership, dedicated to broadening our team members’ personal and professional development. And, together, we will be able to offer even more value and services to our clients. At T&S Structural, Steve will remain in charge of the Santa Clara office as the general manager and signing structural engineer. It is a vital role, uniquely positioning him to share the best practices that shaped his successful Bay Area firm with our T&S Structural offices throughout the state.”

Steven P. Duquette, who has owned and operated Duquette Engineering since its founding in 1990, said,
“I am proud of the caliber and diversity of Duquette Engineering’s capabilities, clients and team.

Like T&S Structural, we’ve been highly invested in our people and clients.

The acquisition by T&S Structural creates new opportunities for existing employees and new hires, which, in turn, expands the spectrum of markets, projects and clients to work with in the future.”
