Carlton Hotel

For years, the Carlton remained a dilapidated 2 story URM in old town Atascadero and now the hotel has been restored beyond its original grandeur with several restaurants, sushi, and wine bar, a bakery, and a gift shop. The roof structure is constructed of open web steel joists over a composite deck design using a mat foundation; and by incorporating the two remaining facades, its historical significance to the city is preserved. The commercial area is located on the ground floor, while the upper levels contain guest rooms encompassing an interior 2-story courtyard that is open to the sky.
